Hope EVO, connected.

Start with the bike you have. Use these documented component combinations to narrow the choice, then resolve the remaining frame and drivetrain checks before ordering.

What you are choosing.

EVO is Hope’s aluminium MTB crank family. It uses a 30 mm axle and Hope’s spline interface for a spider or direct-mount chainring. Different axle lengths serve different frame and chainline requirements.

Hope lists 135, 155, 165, 170 and 175 mm arm lengths. Arm length is a rider and clearance choice; axle length determines the assembly’s width. They are different measurements.

Start at the frame.

Identify the bottom-bracket shell from the frame manufacturer’s specification. A threaded 73 mm BSA shell is not the same interface as a press-fit shell or T47.

*Black reference shown in Hope’s chart. These are bottom-bracket spacers, not the crank-axle spacers in the next table. Both charts must be followed.

Hope specifies the separately available HTT188 fitting tool for its 30 mm threaded bottom bracket. The bearings are replaceable.

The same rear spacing can lead to different cranks.

Hope’s chart shows both 52 and 55 mm arrangements around 148 mm rear spacing. Rear spacing alone cannot choose the crank. Match the frame’s required chainline and clearance to the complete row. Reference families above still need arm-length and colour suffixes.

Chainline describes the chainring’s position relative to the bike’s centre. Hope’s full chart also includes Q-factor, clearance dimensions, Super Boost, DH and fatbike configurations.

Two separate connections: ring-to-crank and ring-to-chain.

For this Hope EVO crank

Hope’s current Spiderless ring mounts directly to its crank interface. Standard and Boost offsets are offered, in a listed 28–36 tooth range. Hope states support for 9–12-speed systems, including Shimano HG+ and SRAM T-Type.

For a SRAM three-bolt crank

Hope also makes a different three-bolt direct-mount ring for SRAM MTB cranks. Its 3 mm offset produces 52 or 55 mm chainline depending on the crank. It is not the Hope EVO spline-mount ring.

The current ring’s claim does not establish compatibility for every older Hope ring. Confirm the exact product revision. Tooth profile compatibility also does not approve the rest of the chain, cassette, derailleur and shifter combination.

This example combines the BSA and EVO chart rows above with the current ring listing. It is a planning recipe, not a complete order or a tested bike build.

ChainringCurrent Hope Spiderless, Boost offset. Choose tooth count within the frame’s limit and your gearing needs.
Chain & shiftingRetain or select an exact compatible chain, cassette, derailleur and shifter system. The ring supports the listed chain families; this example leaves the remaining models unspecified.

Resolve these choices, then take the recipe to your shop.

Your exact purchaseConfirm crank suffix, ring revision and offset, included spacers and any parts sold separately.

If one measurement is unknown, take the bike and these model references to a mechanic or Hope support. That gives them a specific fit question to resolve.
